COAST GUARD COMPLETES INVESTIGATION OF OVERDUE KAYAKER

 CLEVELAND - The Coast Guard announced today the investigation of an overdue kayaker reported missing near Port Sanilac, Mich. has been completed.

The Coast Guard commenced a search Jun. 16, 2007 for 36-year-old William Wertheimer III of Farmington, Mich.

Local authorities discovered Wertheimer's body the following morning.

The commander of Coast Guard Sector Detroit ordered an Administrative Investigation to address questions regarding communication with local agencies in the conduct of this search and rescue case.
