SUSPECT #1: A known Black male, approximately 6'1" in height, 37 years old, approximately 200 pounds. (The suspect has been apprehended and charged with robbery)

SYNOPSIS: At approximately 12:05 p.m. on Saturday January 5, 2008 it was reported to UHDPS that a robbery had occurred at the Metro bus stop at the 3600 block of Scott Street near the City of Houston Public Library. The incident took place off campus, but on "public property" as defined by the Clery Act.
The complainant and the perpetrator both got off of the Metro bus adjacent to the library. The perpetrator approached the complainant and stuck him in the face with his fist knocking the complainant to the ground. The perpetrator took the complainant's satchel and tried to leave the scene. A Good Samaritan who was also on the bus intervened and detained the suspect. The Good Samaritan escorted the suspect and the complainant to the UHDPS building and reported the offense. The suspect was charged with robbery and remanded to the custody of the Harris County Jail. The suspect and complainant are not affiliated with the University of Houston.
